New Volvo Driving Experience

The new Volvo C30 was recently introduced by Volvo. Looking at the current economy they are doing really well in selling these new models of C30. In England itself I have seen a massive increasement of C30 on the road from 2008 to 2010. Some have the normal C30 and some enjoy the sporty R Design. I have done few used car reviews but this is the first time I am writing about a Volvo car.

First ever Volvo C30 model was unveiled in Paris in 2006. Few people raised their eyebrows when Volvo revealed the new model saying it won’t do very well but it has taken off like a rocket in some parts of Europe. Many people say they are still not sure about the new Volvo. Many of my friends tell me why I drive a Volvo as they think its more older generation from 40 to 60. Volvo C30 nowadays is driven by many people from different ages; young and old. I have to say that I get far more attention on road now than when I was driving a smaller car than Volvo few months ago.

I don’t think I should tell you but I think its right the new Volvo C30 does drink a lot of petrol. I have a 1.6 litre R Design Sport C30 and to fill the whole tank it costs me around £40 to £50, which runs around 2 to 3 weeks depending on what you use it for. I drive a lot so I guess it will be expensive for me especially now that the petrol prices are not getting any cheaper. This is certainly one down side of the new Volvo C30 R Design other than this is a great drive.

My other recent posts were on Mercedes SLK Roadster Reviews and BMW 1 series 3 Dr reviews ; please do read them and let me know what your thoughts are about the cars.

Automobile Detailing For Beginners: How To Wash Using Auto Exterior Detailing Products

I have been surprised to find the number of people that do not know how to wash their car, and thought that it might be useful to write this “how to”. This process is the first step to excellent auto exterior detailing.

Selecting the right soap is very important. First and foremost: Don’t use dish washing liquid! Dish soap is very harsh and was not designed to be used on the automotive painted finishes. Understanding this alone will start you on your way of becoming a car detailing products expert and knowing your away around auto detailing products. I personally use Maguire’s automotive exterior detailing products and you will never get criticism for using them. Of course everyone has their preferences and opinions on which ones are the best, but this primer is to give you a great start. These products are easily found at your local automotive.

While you are there, make sure you pick up a wash glove or good microfiber sponge. You are going to use this tool of the trade over and over, so don’t skimp too much on this purchase. Using an old rag is a sure fire way of scratching your paint. Just because you don’t see the deeper “gouges” that you may be putting into your paint, you are definitely at least putting in micro scratches. Looking at the side of your vehicle at an angle on a sunny day may make you a believer!

Now that you have soaped it up real good, next is a good rinse. Of course, the higher the pressure the better. If you are using low pressure, just make sure you flood the all of the surfaces real well. Do the top surfaces first, since all the dirt is flowing downhill!

The next step can be skipped if you like, but this will make you look as if you know your way around car detailing products if you put in the effort! This product is called a “clay bar”. Yes clay – like you used in art class as a kid? It is mildly abrasive that lifts the on to your vehicle and then you start wiping back and forth over the contaminated area. Mash up the patty often and reform it, taking the larger chunks you see in the clay with a pair of tweezers.

Get your soap out and rewash. Now, time to dry the your sparkling car. When you are purchasing your car washing products, add to the list one of three things: a microfiber drying towel, a synthetic chamois, or what is called a water blade (a soft rubber squeegee designed to be use on painted surfaces). Do this in the shade if you can. It keeps the water from evaporating off your car and leaving water marks.

Some of the car washes you purchase already have a mild wax in it. If your does, than the rubbing action of the drying step will bring out the shine. If yours does not, then you will have to move on to the waxing step which is a whole another process, but is necessary if you want to get that truly professional detailing look, and we will have to go into that in another article!

Trendy Car And Truck Accessories For The Young And Old

When we speak of Car and Truck Accessories, we are referencing in general anything that you add to your car or truck after you make the initial purchase and drive it off the lot. There are many people out there that think car accessories are just automobile parts from their local tune up shop, but it goes way beyond that, as the car accessory culture can attest to.

if you’d like your car to be conservative and just blend in with the other cars on your commute, that is one thing not everyone wants. Some people just love to add the variations of auto accessories to their cars so that they can be different and stand out in a crowd.

If you hear some teenagers speaking about how something is “tricked out”, they are most likely talking about a heavily modified car that they think is pretty cool. If you are someone that likes to feel that you are riding in the clouds, you could get a lift kit for your car or truck. Or, you could slam it to the ground and be a Lowrider. If you are one who wants your car to have more HP (horsepower), you can get car accessories like a turbo kit.

I love those shiny cool custom hubcaps that spin. Those shiny hubcaps spinning around always make me look twice and wonder what my kids would think if I were sporting a ride like that. Are you aware that it’s actually possible to accessorize your car or truck with technology that makes it possible for the vehicle to parallel park for you if you are terrible at doing that yourself? It’s true! Who doesn’t love Car Accessories?

Another cool car accessory is a GPS. The GPS is amazing, it can even talk and tell you when to take a turn and even let you know that you missed a turn and will plan an alternate route from there. If you are feeling hungry your GPS can tell you where the closest burger joint is, or a Taco Bell if you prefer that.

The most popular car accessory of all time will probably always be a kickin stereo with a sweet pair of speakers. You may need to do a little research to get the right setup for your cars acoustic settings, but in today’s online world of commerce you’ll find some of the coolest stereos ever made for whatever price point you are looking for. They can even come in Surround Sound. It’s possible to spend just a couple hundred dollars or even several thousand dollars just for a few components to get just the right settings. Do you want a multiple disc changer as well? What about a remote for when you are at a cookout blasting your speakers and want to look cool changing the disc from the barbeque?

Trick out your ride with the exterior, interior, or sound system. Or, you can just focus on getting car accessories that will push the performance envelope to the max. It’s up to you to figure out what you want and how you will allocate your money!

Team AMSOIL supercross rider Trey Canard was awarded the Monster Energy Supercross “Rising Star Award” earlier this month at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross awards banquet at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. Canard earned podium finishes in five of seven Lites races, as well as five of six 450 class races.

“I really didn’t expect it,” said Canard. “The award is awesome though, and I’m excited about it. The team and I worked hard this season and it turned out really well.”

Canard’s success this season also landed him on the cover of the July issue of Racer X.

Rinker Kicks Off 2010 Racing Season

Team AMSOIL powerboat racer Terry Rinker was looking to get a jump on the competition at the first race of the 2010 P.R.O.P. Series in Port Neches, Texas. The weekend started strong, with Rinker clocking in the fastest time in the time trials. He took fourth in the first qualifying heat, and after weather forced the cancellation of the second heat, Rinker

started the main event in the fourth position. After making a pass to move to third, Rinker’s quest for a victory came to an abrupt end as the boat spun into a violent barrel roll.

Because the race course was near the Gulf of Mexico, the electrical connections, switches, boat and motor components had been treated with a light coat of AMSOIL Metal Protector and Heavy Duty Metal Protector. A post-race inspection showed very little sign of electrolysis or saltwater corrosion.

Rinker will compete next at the Bay City River Roar in Bay City, Mich. on the weekend of June 26-27.
