Canadian Brothers Set A Record For Their 18, 000km Journey Around China On BMW Bikes :- Amsoil Engine Flush.

<!–ACNTP

On March 9th, 2011 Canadian brothers Colin and Ryan Pyle received a confirmation by the Guinness World Records they had indeed set an International Record for their motorbike journey around China. According to the Guinness World Records the name of the record they received was for the “Longest Journey by Motorcycle in a Single Country”. Their journey was a unique one, as they have become the first riders to fully circumnavigate China by bike in one single journey.

During their outstanding 17,674km odyssey the bros have run across some of the best changes in culture, weather, altitude and terrain that exist in the world. They tackled heavy rains, flooding, landslides, freak storms, intense altitude (above 5000m / 16,000ft), sand, gravel, thousands of kilometers of road construction and even bureaucratic / military interference. Colin and Ryan intend to produce both a documentary film and a written book on their experiences in China, which have been a long way from regular.

Anytime somebody places him or herself out there, into the wild, and opens themselves up to the experiences of such a huge and unique country one can not help but encounter moments of danger, humor, unhappiness, gratification and personal gain and reversal. Their journey will prove to be both colourful and dramatic, both intense and fulfilling. Colin and Ryan Pyle are brothers from Toronto, Canada. But that is about all they have in common. Ryan has spent the decade in China building his career as a Documentary Snapper. Colin stayed closer to home, in Toronto, and built up, and sold, his own successful currency trading company.

Together they intend to showcase much of China’s change and development from factory to farm. The general purpose of the trip is to put China on display. To explore the visual and cultural wonders that’s China. With a massive population, crowded cities, abundant minorities and its stunning natural landscape ; China offers a traveler an experience like no other. Colin and Ryan have titled their project, “The Middle Dominion Ride”, as China’s historic name was once The Middle Dominion. Ryan and Colin will be raising money for the SEVA Foundation during their journey. SEVA, is a San Francisco based charity that has, for over 30 years, been serving folk around the globe who are struggling for health, cultural survival and viable communities.

You can follow The Middle Dominion Ride at our Internet site FACEBOOK, YouTube and Twitter news release . The Middle Dominion Ride would haven’t occurred without our amazing sponsors : Mandarin House Language School, BMW China, Touratech, The Tomson Group, Airhawk, Pelican Products, Kodak, Oakley, Cardo Systems, and Lowe Pro.

Rockers Vs Mods April 1-3, 2011 Pits Western European & Cafe-Style Motorbikes Against Italian Scooters | 2012 Ford Focus.

<!–ACNTP

Rockers vs Mods is a three day bike show & music holiday will have more ‘Billy than Jimmy Carter’s family reunions. Rockabilly legend Mack Stevens will be performing together with The Dangits, Deacon Sean & The Bar Brawlers will round out the Rocker Tunes. For the Mod sensibilities, the Muck Savages, Sleazy Mancini and Johnny Tone’s Club Wood will be laying it down thick and wide. The key attraction will be Labretta Suede and the Motel 6 hailing from Auckland, New Zealand.

This dazzling trio will make the trip (from NYC) to get everybody shaking their asses in unison at Lee Harvey’s. We were the third mods / rockers sort of event and now there are rather more than 25 across the U.S. The first history on Brighton Beach contrast to a re-emergence of the British version of “Rocker” culture and cafe racer bikes in sharp relief to the mod / Northwards Soul & Scooterboy scene makes for just the right amount of rivalry and friendship. There are presently similar events in : Austin, TX, Baltimore, MD, Boise, ID, Chicago, IL, Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, Colorado Springs, Corp, Eugene, OR, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Houston, TX, LA, CA, New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, San Diego, CA, Seattle, WA & Internationally : Great Britain (of course), Sweden & Japan.

With the renewed interest together with last year’s coverage Cafeteria Racer Magazines TV Series, we are expecting a big turnout this year. Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. & Crispin Hard Cider are partnering as a presenting sponsors this year. Additionally, Dime Town Cycles hailing from Largo Florida (& Cafe Racer TELEVISION fame) will sponsor the gig, with Amsterdam Bar, Belmont Hotel & Smoke Restaurant, Dallas Town Mods, TwoWheelTrips Lee Harvey’s, Lakewood Insurance, Vespa Dallas, Elm Street Tattoo, Mike, Killing City Roller Derby, North Texas Norton Owners Organisation, Ton Up, Get Bent Scooter Club, ACE Scooter Club & Soldier Clothing.

This year’s Rockers vs Mods event is dedicated to the memory of Frankie Campagna and a gift to the Deep Ellum Community Association will be made in his name from a little of the returns. All this is FREE to spectators and $35 to register an EU and Cafe Style Bike or Italian Scooter. Bike Registration and scheduling information is available at rockersvsmods Trademarks and High Res Imagery is available at rockersvsmods free press release .

Amsoil DOMINATOR – Synthetic 2-Cycle Racing Oil

Amsoil Dominator

Amsoil Dominator

Amsoil DOMINATOR®, an AMSOIL exclusive formulation, lubricates and protects high-performance two-cycle motors, both on and off the track. High-performance motors, particularly those that are modified, operate hotter and at higher RPM than recreational motors, and they need good oil for peak performance. DOMINATOR is engineered for racing. It has the right fi lm strength and clean-burning properties for “on the edge” operation.

FREE Amsoil Catalog – no obligation, sent USPS to your home. Free pen and Amsoil sticker included.

Amsoil Dominator

Super Film Strength

High-performance two-cycle motors have high compression ratios, which significantly increases combustion chamber heat and crankshaft bearing . Hot combustion processes quickly burn off and evaporate light oils and cause rapid piston expansion, decreasing piston-to-cylinder wall clearances. This promotes piston scuffing and possible seizure, and increased pressure on crankshaft bearings promotes metal-to-metal contact, wear and pitting. High heat and pressures require tough oil with better fi lm strength and more lubricity.

Amsoil DOMINATOR, constructed with AMSOIL heavy synthetic oil, handles high heat better
than mineral oils and provides improved fi lm strength and lubricity. DOMINATOR
reduces friction and provides an extra measure of protection against piston scuffing
and crankshaft bearing wear.

Clean Burning

High combustion processes require the proper additives and oils to control deposits. Amsoil DOMINATOR contains strong, high-temperature detergent additives and highly pure AMSOIL synthetic oil. It helps prevent deposits that cause ring sticking, plug fouling and exhaust port blocking. Amsoil DOMINATOR is an optimized product for severe service.

• Provides excellent fi lm strength for high-heat, high-RPM motors
• Reduces friction for maximum power
• Recommended for use with coated or non-coated racing pistons
• Suitable for use with exhaust power valves
• Recommended for use with high-octane racing gas
• Burns clean; helps prevent ring sticking and plug fouling
• Provides excellent protection at 50:1 pre-mix or in injection systems

Amsoil booth at the Gladstone Car Show

Gladstone Car Show

So, I was at the Gladstone Car and Motorcycle Show last Sunday. It’s during the Gladstone, Missouri Gladfest. It’s like a fall festival/carnival/fair all in one, right in the middle of Gladstone. On Sunday there is the car show, which is a benefit for the Gladstone school system automotive program. I have an Amsoil booth there, and I also donate their website on Concrete 5. Please visit the website at www.gladstonecarshow.com for the pictures and videos. I also started a Gladstone Car Show youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/gladstonecarshow. I did not have any professional camera or anything, I’m not really responsible for content on the website but I took some pictures and video with my phone.

 Gladstone Car Show

There were some incredible cars there. I’ll post a few photos;

This Camaro “Whiplash” was a owner built twin turbo engineering marvel;

It was a season of development and patience for the AMSOIL/EBR team in 2011.  Rider Geoff May started the AMA American Superbike class on top of an underpowered 1125 as he waited for the mAmsoil Motorcycle Productsid-season unveiling of the EBR 1190RS.

The patience paid off for May as he ended the 2011 campaign with his best finish atop the new ride.  A sixth (and 11th on Saturday) at New Jersey Motorsports Park was a testament to the bikes capabilities and the teams commitment to finding a winning combination.

“We had a lot of work to do this year,” said May. “It’s not easy trying to get a new bike approved by the AMA in midseason, but we kept pushing and a full off season of testing is only going to make this program better in 2012.”

May finished tied for ninth in the American Superbike class with Steve Rapp at 139 points.  Also riding an EBR 1190RS at the final round was privateer Taylor Knapp, who finished 12th and 7th.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
One of the Amsoil Motorcycle Products is AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil is a premium oil designed for those who demand the absolute best lubrication for their motorcycles. AMSOIL 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil is the result of extensive research and is specially formulated to excel in all areas unique to motorcycles, including the high temperatures of air-cooled engines such as Harley-Davidson® V-Twins, wet-clutch lubrication, extreme-pressure regions of gears and chains and rust common to short trips and storage.

AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil one of the leading Amsoil Motorcycle Products, and is multi-functional and fulfills the requirements of both domestic and foreign motorcycles. It outperforms other conventional and synthetic motorcycle oils. AMSOIL, the leader in synthetic lubrication, produced the world’s first API-qualified synthetic motor oil in 1972. Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL, The First in Synthetics,® to do the best job protecting your motorcycle.

Reduces Friction, Heat and Wear
In high heat conditions, engine protection is not sacrificed with AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil. It has exceptional high-temperature film strength and contains a heavy treatment of anti-wear additives to reduce wear regardless of operating conditions. AMSOIL 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil is thermally (heat) stable and contains maximum levels of oxidation inhibitor additives. It is extremely resistant to breakdown and engineered to prevent damaging sludge and carbon deposits for superior engine cleanliness.

Provides Extreme Pressure Quality Protection for Gears and Chains
With AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil, there is no need for separate transmission or primary chaincase lubricants. It is absolutely shear stable and will not thin out from mechanical activity. AMSOIL 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil performs like a gear lube without the negative effects of extreme-pressure additives. In the FZG gear test, AMSOIL achieved a perfect score with a “zero” wear rating (see test photo).

Delivers Superior Rust Protection
Motorcycles are prone to rust from storage, humidity and short drives. Rust can cause major damage such as roller bearing failure, uncontrolled wear, compression loss and blow-by. Good rust protection, however, comes by design and is not natural to engine oils. Unlike many motorcycle oils, AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil contains special anti-rust agents. It passes the ASTM D-1748 humidity cabinet rust test and clearly demonstrates superior rust protection (see photos below).

APPLICATIONS
AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil is recommended for air or liquid cooled 4-stroke engines. It meets SAE 90, API GL-1 gear oil requirements and is recommended for transmissions and primary chaincases. AMSOIL MCV is recommended for Harley Davidson®, Buell®, KTM, Ducati®, Aprilia®, BMW®, Triumph® and other motorcycles where 15W-50 or 20W-50 engine oils or SAE 90, GL-1 gear oils are used. Not recommended where an API GL-4 or GL-5 gear oil is required.

MIXING AMSOIL
AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil is compatible with conventional and synthetic motor oils; however, mixing oils may shorten the oil life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where oils have been mixed.

Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL motorcycle oil.

SERVICE LIFE
Recommended for use up to twice the motorcycle manufacturer change interval (miles/hours) or one year, whichever comes first, in engines, transmissions and primary chaincases. For Big Twin Harley-Davidson transmissions only, follow the Harley-Davidson recommended drain interval for synthetic oil of up to 20,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. When using an engine filter other than AMSOIL Ea, change the filter at standard intervals.
